Fris is a highly versatile lighting system that takes an ingenious approach to a once unresolved dilemma: creating a set of lamps in which each can be adjusted to cast light in its own direction.
Designed by Joan Caspar, the Fris lamp features a light encased in a glass tube. This glass protects the light and serves a more mechanical function: It suspends the entire system, allowing the lamp to rotate 360 degrees and cast direct or indirect light exactly where needed.
The glass also shows the inside of the lamp and its two profiles: One holds the light source and the other acts like a parabola - projecting intense, focused light.
Use the assembly and hanging accessories to join Fris pendants in groups of three and compose fascinating light structures. The pendant is available in three lengths: 80, 155 and 215cm. The wall or ceiling lamp can be installed at an adjustable distance and comes in the same three sizes.
There are two versions of Fris to choose from: Pro and Standard. The Pro version creates more targeted, downcast light with a low UGR, making it easy on the eyes. The Standard version produces a broader beam of diffused light.
Fris offers so much design flexibility in lighting both residential and commercial spaces. Combine Fris pendants in different sizes and positions to create a large-scale entryway installation - or suspend one above a dining table for a minimalist effect. Hang them next to each other for ideal workspace task lighting or mount Fris on the wall and rotate the light to make it glow. Fris is an brilliant solution for so many needs and practically any room.
